Preparing Images for the Web
Here is a simple and free online tool to help you resize your images:
Follow these instructions as you use the tool:
1. Select Load a Picture
2. Select Browse
3. Select Load Picture
4. Modify the Picture using the different options, most important are Resize and Crop
5. Select Resize
6. Enter a custom size for the Width (ie. 500) and set to Pixels. You can only enter one dimension at a time or you will distort the photos properties.
7. Keep Lock Aspect Ratio checked and select Apply
8. Select Crop by clicking on your photo and dragging to start the tool
9. At the far top right of the screen, you can see the exact pixels as you manipulate the tool
10. Double click the photo once you have the proper pixel width and height
11. Choose the format: JPG
12. Select the Quality: 75%
13. Save to Disk
14. Select OK
15. Rename the Image for SEO and accessilibity (ie. Spark_Design_Staff.jpg)
16. Save
17. You know have an image resized and you may Upload it to your CMS
